Management and staffing


Mrs. Kulbir Kandola qualified in 1993 as a social worker with an MA/CQSW and worked in various teams in Nottinghamshire. She has extensive experience first as a social worker, then in registering and inspecting care homes, and contracting adult services in the independent care sector.

She has owned nursing homes for 19 years. She has wide experience of working with older people, children, people with learning disabilities, and people with mental health problems.

Mrs. Kandola takes a close interest in the running of the Home to ensure high standards are maintained.

The Home Manager is a qualified RGN and holds the ILM level 5 qualification. The Home Manager is supported by an Assistant Nurse Manager and a Deputy Manager. There is a full time Training Manager who delivers an extensive training programme to all staff.

The management team is supported by an Office Manager and an Accounts Clerk. A Business Support Manager supports the Administration team.

Care Team

We have a team of highly qualified and experienced nursing staff, care team leaders, senior care assistants and care assistants. All care staff are required to complete NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care as a minimum. We have a full-time activities coordinator who organises activities in line with the requirements of the residents.

Hotel Services

We have a team of 4 staff in the catering department led by the Head Chef. The Head Housekeeper manages a team of housekeepers and laundry staff. We have a full-time Maintenance Manager. All staff ensure high standards of service are provided to our residents at all times.


Staff are well supervised on duty and we provide good staffing levels to make sure that the high standards of care are maintained.

Each member of staff has a regular formal session with a manager to look at their performance and to consider ideas they have.  Everyone receives an annual appraisal with the Nursing Manager.


We provide regular training to maintain and improve standards, and to ensure staff skills and knowledge are kept up-to-date. New staff complete a comprehensive induction course.
